Walker’s UCL final appearance in question after he misses training

Kyle Walker did not participate in Manchester City’s open training session on Tuesday before the Champions League final.

The England full-back was taken off in the closing minutes of City’s FA Cup final triumph over Manchester United at Wembley on Saturday. And now he looks to be out of contention for the Champions League final.

However, all the other players were present as City carried on with their preparations for the upcoming match against Inter Milan in Istanbul.

In a later press conference, Pep Guardiola explained that Walker opted to sit out the session to prevent further discomfort to his back, as he has been dealing with a back problem.

The City boss said: “He has had a little bit of a disturbance in his back.

“Yesterday he was not good, today he was a little bit better but we didn’t want to take any risks. We will see in the next days.”
