Lautaro Martinez woes Inter’s struggles against Sociedad

Lautaro Martinez confesses his dissatisfaction with Inter’s draw and performance against Real Sociedad, acknowledging the need for significant improvement.

The Argentinean striker’s late goal contributed to the Nerazzurri’s 1-1 draw at the Anoeta Stadium in Wednesday’s opening game of the Champions League group stage.

During a post-game interview with Amazon Prime Italia, Lautaro openly expressed his discontent with Inter’s performance against Sociedad.

“No, because we didn’t do what we had prepared. We struggled and there’s a lot to improve,” he said.

Lautaro was then asked if their packed schedule had anything to do with their lackluster performance at San Sebastian.

I don’t think it’s because of that,” admitted Lautaro.

“We faced a team that pressed high, we were not good enough at attacking the space, we were always offside and when you face these sorts of teams it’s always hard. It happened in the derby too sometimes, so we have to work on this.”

All things considered, the Nerazzurri could be happy as they didn’t lose the game.

“That’s the important thing. We knew they were a strong side and many teams have struggled against them,” argued the Argentinean.

“The stadium is small but the fans are close. It was important not to lose otherwise it would have been difficult, it’s important to return home with one point.”
