Copenhagen boss sends warning to ‘equal’ Manchester United

Copenhagen’s manager, Jacob Neestrup, displayed a stubborn attitude in anticipation of their upcoming Champions League match against Manchester United on Wednesday.

The Danish team came very close to securing a point at Old Trafford two weeks ago, with Andre Onana’s exceptional performance maintaining a narrow 1-0 victory. Neestrup issued a caution to Manchester United ahead of the rematch, asserting that his team was on par with United in their previous encounter.

“For me, it’s not about hope,” the Copenhagen boss told reporters on Tuesday. “For me, it’s about strong belief that we can get a result. The penalty miss in the fifth minute of extra time was what it was, but it was a totally equal game. I was a little bit surprised about some of the questions I got after the game from English journalists in terms of that we were quite tough to break down. The talk we had at half-time in our dressing room was that we thought it was tough to break the opponent down. In that picture, I think the game over 95 minutes was totally equal and I expect the same tomorrow.”

Copenhagen might get a result against struggling Manchester United

Copenhagen enters Wednesday’s contest with a record of three consecutive wins in all competitions, and their last loss occurred at Old Trafford last month.

In contrast, Manchester United has managed only one win during this period, which was a late victory over Fulham last Saturday, conceding six goals in the process. But as the pressure mounts on Erik ten Hag, Neestrup emphasized that those at the Parken Stadium won’t provide an easy challenge.

Manchester United’s upcoming match against Copenhagen initiates a crucial series of fixtures that will have a significant impact on Erik ten Hag’s future. The Dutchman will be under pressure to secure points in both the match in Denmark and the home game against Luton on Saturday. Any mistakes in these matches will unquestionably intensify the pressure on the Manchester United manager.
