Manchester City dominate 23-man FIFA FIFPRO Men’s World 11 shortlist that includes Ronaldo

The 23 players in the men’s list for the FIFA FIFPRO World 11 have been confirmed, with Manchester City enjoying a good number of nominees.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe have all been named on FIFA’s FIFPro Men’s Team of the Year 23-player shortlist for 2023.

The eight players from Pep Guardiola’s treble winner squad are among 23 finalists. The men’s shortlist features the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Jude Bellingham, Thibaut Courtois, Harry Kane and more. Mohamed Salah and Victor Osimhen both have been snubbed in the shortlist for the FIFPRO Men’s World XI.

Professional footballers across the world were asked to vote for their team of the year by selecting players who they consider to have had the best performances from 19 December 2022 to 20 August 2023. The goalkeeper, three defenders, three midfielders and three forwards who have received the most votes will be selected for the World 11. The final 11 will be announced at The Best FIFA Football Awards ceremony on Monday 15 January.
