Alvaro Morata could miss the Champions League game against Inter

Alvaro Morata suffered a sprained knee in a 1-0 loss to Sevilla and left the pitch in tears, indicating that he will likely miss the upcoming games against Inter in the Champions League.

Alvaro Morata is in danger of missing the games against Inter Milan in the Champions League.

The Spanish forward was substituted off the pitch in the 46th minute, and Atletico Madrid confirmed on X (formerly Twitter) that the former Juventus forward had sustained a sprained knee.

Alvaro Morata left the pitch in tears, escorted by Atletico Madrid staff members. He will undergo medical tests in the coming hours, but it seems unlikely he will recover in time for Atletico Madrid’s Champions League Round of 16 fixtures against Inter.

The first leg date at San Siro is February 20. And the decisive match will take place in Madrid on March 13.

Alvaro Morata has had a remarkable season. He scored 19 goals in 32 appearances across all competitions at the club level. He is also one of the UCL’s top scorers with 5 goals in 6 matches.

Atletico Madrid topped their Champions League group ahead of Lazio. Inter finished as the runners-up in Group D behind La Liga side Real Sociedad.
