Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique confirms Kylian Mbappe will be available for their Champions League last-16 clash with Real Sociedad on Wednesday.
Kylian Mbappe missed PSG’s Ligue 1 game against Lille on Saturday with an ankle injury but is set to return for the game against Real Sociedad.
In his press conference on Tuesday, Luis Enrique confirmed Mbappe is available for Wednesday’s game at the Parc de Princes.
“When a team has a player like Kylian Mbappé, of course we know that the more he plays the better, because we all benefit from that,” Luis Enrique said.
“There is no doubt about it. He could have played [on Saturday] if it had been a final, but it wasn’t, it was not worth the risk. Kylian Mbappé is available, just like the other players.”
Reports in France and Spain have suggested that Mbappe has decided to leave the club this summer to join Real Madrid. The French forward will be a free agent at the end of the season when his contract with PSG expires.
When asked if Wednesday’s game could be Mbappe’s final Champions League game at home as a PSG player, Enrique said: “This is not the way I feel and therefore I feel neither joy nor sadness — he [Mbappé] is as usual.”
The 25-year-old forward has scored 30 goals in 29 games this season.
