Bernardo Silva believes that Manchester City will advance to the Champions League final by defeating Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the tournament.
City secured a spot in the semi-finals by playing to a 1-1 draw against Bayern Munich in the second leg of their quarter-final match on Wednesday, resulting in a 4-1 aggregate victory.
This win sets up a rematch against Madrid in the semi-finals, providing City with the opportunity to avenge their loss to the Spanish team at the same stage last year in a thrilling showdown.
Silva is optimistic about his team’s chances of defeating Carlo Ancelotti’s men in the semi-finals, stating to BT Sport: “We will definitely go for it. We always strive to do our best, and currently, the team is extremely confident. I believe we will advance.”
City has advanced to the semi-finals of the Champions League for the third consecutive year after being eliminated at the same stage in the two preceding years.
Silva added: “We struggled until February because we couldn’t get in that usual run we had before of winning 10-15 games in a row but now we are very consistent, we feel we have a chance in every competition and we are going for them.
“We are at that point of the season where if you drop your performance in one game you are out of a competition. It is going to be tough but we are going to work very hard to bring some titles home,” Silva said.
City will play the first leg of the semi-final tie in the second week of May. Guardiola’s side will play their next match in the FA Cup semi-final against Sheffield United on Saturday.
