Jesse Marsch on Tom Brady’s radar for Birmingham’s top job to replace Rooney

Former Leeds boss Jesse Marsch has emerged as one of the candidates in the four-man shortlist for the currently vacant managerial position at Birmingham City.

Following Wayne Rooney’s dismissal on Tuesday morning, reports indicate that Marsch is among the contenders for the role. The American has been without a job since his termination by Leeds United in February of the previous year.

According to Sky Sports News, the four-man shortlist for the Birmingham City managerial position includes Jesse Marsch, England Under-21 manager Lee Carsley, former Sunderland coach Tony Mowbray, and ex-Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper.

While the list is expected to be further narrowed down, there is a likelihood that Cooper may not consider an approach, as he prefers to await opportunities in the Premier League.

Marsch recently acknowledged regret for declining the Leicester City job last spring when he was approached for the position with the former Premier League champions.

The Foxes eventually faced relegation under the management of Dean Smith, who now leads Charlotte FC.
