Former Italy manager Roberto Mancini set to become new Saudi Arabia manager

Former Italy manager Roberto Mancini is set to be appointed as the new head coach of the Saudi Arabia national team.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Roberto Mancini will become the new Saudi Arabia national team coach on Monday in Riyadh. This report suggest that Mancini will earn €25m per year after signing a four-year deal.

Mancini, who guided Italy to the Euro 2020 trophy, resigned from his position just over two weeks ago. He was Italy’s manager since 2018. The Italian football federation appointed Luciano Spalletti as his replacement.

Saudi Arabia next match is against Costa Rica in a friendly match on September 8 at St. James’ Park. They then will face South Korea on September 12.

Saudi Arabia will face either Cambodia or Pakistan in their opening group stage match in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
