France’s Oliver Giroud to miss Germany friendly after suffering ankle injury

Milan star Olivier Giroud will leave the France camp after suffering an ankle injury to avoid any further risks.

Oliver Giroud left the pitch in the 25th minute during the EURO 2024 qualifier match Republic of Ireland on Thursday.

According to L’Equipe, Giroud has suffered an ankle injury and Didier Deschamps will let him leave the France camp. This report suggests that his injury is not serious, and they just want to avoid any further risks.

Milan striker and France’s all-time record goalscorer will miss the friendly match against Germany on Tuesday.

Milan will face their arch-rivals Inter after the break for international duty. Stefano Pioli’s side then will play with Newcastle United in the Champions League.

The 37-year-old Giroud has scored four goals and provided one assist in just three Serie A games this season.
