Portugal manager Roberto Martinez says Cristiano Ronaldo is still as hungry for goals as an 18-year-old player.
Portugal ended their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign with a 2-0 win over Iceland on Sunday. Bruno Fernandes and Ricardo Horta scored for Martinez’s side in this match.
Cristiano Ronaldo failed to score against Iceland, but the 38-year-old managed to score 10 goals in nine matches in Euro 2024 qualifiers.
After the match, Roberto Martinez insisted has no doubts about Ronaldo’s quality, and that he is still hungry for goals.
Martinez told reporters: “Cristiano Ronaldo is as hungry as an 18-year-old player. He is a role model, he always tries to be in the right position and is looking for the goal.”
Ronaldo and Al-Nassr will face Al-Akhdoud on Friday in the Saudi Pro League. Ronaldo’s side is currently in second place in the League table. Ronaldo has scored 13 goals for Al-Nassr this season.
