Euro 2024 draw: Italy and Spain in Group Death, France to face Netherlands

Defending Champions Italy, Spain, and Croatia were drawn together in a mouth-watering Group B at Saturday’s Euro 2024 draw in Hamburg.

The draw for the UEFA EURO 2024 group stage took place in Hamburg on Saturday 2 December.

Hosts Germany open the tournament when they entertain Scotland in Munich on June 14. The final takes place at the Olympiastadion in Berlin on July 14. Euro 2024 is being held in Germany next summer, across 10 cities.

Holders Italy have been drawn in the same group as Spain in a daunting Group B at Euro 2024. Croatia and Albania make up the final teams in the group.

World Cup finalist France has to play with the Netherlands in the group stage. Didier Deschamps’s side also has been drawn against Austria and the winners of Playoff A.

Euro 2020 finalist England are in the same group as Denmark as the Three Lions learned their group-stage opponents in today’s draw. Gareth Southgate’s side also will face Slovenia and Serbia in their Euro 2024 group next summer.

Portugal who won this tournament in 2016 has to play with Turkey, the Czech Republic, and Play-off winner C.

Group B: Spain, Croatia, Italy, Albania

Group C: Slovenia, Denmark, Serbia, England

Group D: Wales/Finland/Poland/Estonia, Netherlands, Austria, France

Group E: Belgium, Slovakia, Romania, Israel/Iceland/Bosnia-Herzegovina/Ukraine

Group F: Turkiye, Georgia/Luxembourg/Greece/Kazakhstan, Portugal, Czechia

The top two teams from each of the six final tournament groups will proceed to the round of 16 along with the four best third-placed finishers.

The Euro 2024 play-offs take place during next March’s international break.
