The Local Organizing Committee and the Asian Football Confederation have officially announced that the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023, the leading international tournament of the continent, will take place from January 12 to February 10, 2024.
China was initially supposed to host the tournament this year. However, the event was postponed, and it will now take place in 2024.
The competition will feature the top 24 nations of Asia.
To engage more fans, the organizers have decided to schedule the opening game on a Friday. The final match will be held on a weekend for the 18th edition of the tournament.
World Cup hosts Qatar will now host the AFC Asian Cup
The AFC and LOC have confirmed that the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 will be played at eight different stadiums.
Six of these stadiums were used as venues for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
These stadiums include Al-Janoub, Al-Bayt, Ahmed bin Ali, Al-Thumama, Education City, Khalifa International, Jassim bin Hamad, and Abdullah bin Khalifa.
