Yazan Al Naimat and Mousa Al Tamari scored the goals that secured Jordan a remarkable 2-0 victory over Korea Republic, sending the West Asian side into the final of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™ at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium on Tuesday.
Jordan managed a stunning achievement by beating the Korea Republic in the semi-finals to reach the Asian Cup final for the first time in the country’s history. From start to finish, Jordan delivered a dominant performance that left Korea Republic unable to match their pace and determination. It marked a historic moment as Jordan booked their first-ever spot in the AFC Asian Cup final.
Jordan wasted no time asserting themselves against Korea Republic, with their aggressive start nearly catching their opponents off guard. Yazan Al Naimat’s early strike in the fourth minute forced goalkeeper Jo Hyeon-woo into a diving save.
Throughout the match, Jordan posed a threat with every attack. Mousa Al Tamari’s skillful play saw him evade three defenders before setting up Noor Al Rawabdeh, testing Jo with a powerful shot.
While Korea Republic gradually found their rhythm, they were unable to capitalize on their opportunities. Son Heung-min’s goal was disallowed for offside, and Lee Kang-in missed the target from close range.
