Pulisic will captain USMNT against Grenada

It has been announced that Christian Pulisic will lead the USMNT as captain in the CONCACAF Nations League match against Grenada

Christian Pulisic has been announced as the captain of the USMNT for their upcoming game against Grenada in the CONCACAF Nations League.

Pulisic is ‘ready to go’ for USMNT

The match is the first for the USMNT since the 2022 World Cup. Pulisic suffered an injury in January while playing for Chelsea in the Premier League against Manchester City, which kept him out of action for two months.

However, he made his return to the field as a substitute in the Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund on March 7. He has since stated that he is fully fit and prepared to play against Grenada.

“I’m feeling healthy, I was able to come back and get a start before I came here. [My] injury has recovered well, the knee is feeling good. Ready to go, hopefully, be a part of these matches,” he told reporters.

Graham Potter gave Pulisic an unusual opportunity to start in the game against Everton last weekend. The American played a significant role in Joao Felix’s opening goal. He was close to scoring a goal himself, but Joao Felix was offside during the build-up.

As the captain of USMNT, Pulisic is expected to play a crucial role. Chelsea winger will be looking to make a significant impact. The 24-year-old is considered the obvious poster boy for the team. He will finally live up to the name ‘Captain America’ that USA fans have given him.
