Julian Nagelsmann set to become Germany head coach

Julian Nagelsmann is reportedly on the verge of becoming Germany new head coach until Euro 2024, after accepting a substantial reduction in salary.

The former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann, who remains under contract with the club despite his dismissal in March, is poised to assume the head coach role for the German national team until Euro 2024, as per Bild.

Bayern will terminate his contract, enabling Nagelsmann to officially succeed Hansi Flick as the new manager of Germany.

According to the report, Nagelsmann will experience a significant reduction in his salary as he is expected to receive approximately €4 million in wages from the German FA (DFB). This amount is considerably less than the €20 million he could have earned had he completed his contract with Bayern until 2026.

Nagelsmann and the DFB have already reached a preliminary agreement, and the final terms of his contract will be concluded in the coming days. His inaugural match as Germany’s head coach might take place in an international friendly against the USMNT on October 14.
