Giannis Antetokounmpo and his brothers acquire a minority stake in MLS outfit Nashville SC
The two-time NBA MVP, Giannis Antetokounmpo, alongside his Milwaukee Bucks team-mate Thanasis and other siblings Kostas and Alex, have bought stakes at Nashville SC.
Antetokounmpo ‘excited’ to join the Nashville project
Giannis Antetokounmpo is the latest NBA star to buy stakes in MLS sides. Giannis released a statement expressing his excitement about coming on board such a project.
“My father was a professional soccer player, and it was the first sport I fell in love with in Greece,” he told ESPN.
“I’ve always had the dream of owning a soccer team. When my brothers and I explored Nashville SC, we knew it was a team and a city that we wanted to get involved with.
“I couldn’t be more excited to join the Boys in Gold, and can’t wait to come to a match at GEODIS Park soon.”
Actress Reese Witherspoon and Tennessee running back Derrick Henry are the other high-profile investors in Nashville which are now joined by the quartet of Giannis and his two brothers as well as Nashville Predators forward Filip Forsberg
