Tata Martino disappointed about Miami’s blank draw

Tata Martino emphasized that Inter Miami’s training schedule has been limited due to their frequent matches every four days over nearly two months.

Despite extending their unbeaten streak to 10 games, The Herons conceded two crucial points in the playoff race when they were held to a draw by Nashville on Wednesday evening. Lionel Messi’s performance was not at its best as Miami played to a 0-0 tie at the DRV PNK Stadium.

In the aftermath of the lackluster display, Inter Miami’s manager, Martino, expressed his frustration over insufficient training time with his team. He noted that the squad is still in the process of adjusting to his methods.

“I’ve been with the team for two months, but it’s really been only 50-52 days of actually working with the team,” he told reporters.

“We still haven’t had a full week working with them. Playing every four days hasn’t allowed us enough time to train and really build this group.”

Without Walker Zimmerman and Sam Surridge, Nashville employed a defensive strategy by sitting deep within their own half and crowding their defense to neutralize Messi’s impact. This tactical approach proved effective as they secured a point, although it tested Martino’s patience due to its cautious nature.

“When you put that many players in the opponent’s box, of course, you’ll keep a clean sheet,” he quipped following the match.
