MLS club Inter Miami has confirmed that their China tour has been canceled this offseason due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’.
Inter Miami squad was set to travel to China to play with Chinese Super League teams Qingdao Hainiu and Chengdu Rongcheng on November 5 and 8. However, the MLS side announced on Wednesday that their China tour had been canceled due to “unforeseen circumstances in China”.
A statement on the club’s website read: “The tour promoter, NSN, has informed Inter Miami CF of the cancellation of its China Tour due to unforeseen circumstances in China. Inter Miami’s ambition remains to expand its global reach by playing in front of incredible fans from across the globe. the Club will continue to explore future opportunities with NSN to achieve this goal.”
Reports in Argentina suggest that Inter Miami’s trip to the Far East got cancelled due to “bureaucratic and commercial issues”.
Messi scored 11 goals in his first 14 matches across all competitions. Inter Miami finished second-bottom of the Eastern Conference with 34 points.
