AC Milan forward Olivier Giroud has put the brakes on signing a new deal with the Rossoneri and is now considering a move to MLS, according to reports.
La Gazzetta dello Sport suggests that the Frenchman turned down a move to Saudi Arabia last summer but is currently more inclined to pursue a late-career move to the United States. At 37 years old, Giroud might be contemplating joining the league where Lionel Messi currently plays.
Olivier Giroud, a legend of the game, could be a valuable addition to the MLS despite his age. The report indicates that Giroud is not expected to make a decision until April or May. Since joining AC Milan in 2021, the Frenchman has scored 41 goals in 106 appearances for the club.
Giroud, who joined AC Milan from Chelsea in the summer of 2021, enjoyed a successful first season with the Rossoneri, winning the Serie A title.
Stefano Pioli’s team will face Empoli on Sunday, aiming to improve their position in the Serie A table. Currently, AC Milan is in third place, trailing league leaders Inter by nine points.
