Phil Neville, the Inter Miami coach, has taken full responsibility for the team’s sixth consecutive defeat, a 1-0 loss to Houston Dynamo.
Despite having a talented squad and a respected manager in Phil Neville, Inter Miami’s poor record this season – with six consecutive losses – suggests that they are far from living up to their status as one of the favourites for the playoffs.
Phil Neville has taken responsibility for his team’s poor run of form and is confident that his players can regain their confidence and start winning again. Inter Miami have lost six consecutive matches.
“You’re right. We need to start winning. But we can’t hide behind the fact that a six-game loss is good enough. But It’s nowhere near good enough for what we want for this football club. I take full responsibility for that and the consequences that come my way,” Phil Neville told reporters after the match.
“But I believe 100% that we can start winning, we can start getting wins on the table, we can start climbing the table. But I’ve got belief in the players we’ve got. I see it. I see it every day in training, I saw it tonight more than ever.” Phil Neville concluded.
Inter Miami is currently second to last in the Eastern Conference standings and shares the same number of points as the last-placed team Montreal, but they have a superior goal difference.
The upcoming Miami Clasico match against Miami FC in the US Open Cup presents a great chance for Inter Miami to break their losing streak and get a win.
