Karim Benzema wants to leave Al-Ittihad at once ‘due to pressure’

Karim Benzema has reportedly expressed a desire to leave Al-Ittihad “due to pressure” and is linked with a potential transfer to Manchester United.

The 36-year-old Karim Benzema has faced a dip in form since his summer move to Al-Ittihad and has been excluded from the squad by manager Marcelo Gallardo.

Benzema, who returned to training late after a winter break due to travel disruptions, is now reportedly seeking permission to depart Al-Ittihad in order to revive his career elsewhere.

Despite being offered the opportunity to continue playing at another club in Saudi Arabia through a loan transfer, Karim Benzema has reportedly declined the proposal. The Ballon d’Or winner, who moved to Al-Ittihad in the summer, expressed that he is  “unable to give the best version of himself due to the pressure”

Premier League clubs are gunning for Benzema as he wants a move away from Al-Ittihad

The 36-year-old striker is determined to leave the Middle East, where scrutiny and criticism from fans and pundits have intensified since his move to the Gulf State.

Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal are reportedly interested in Karim Benzema, who is seeking to leave Al-Ittihad due to pressure and a challenging spell since his move to the Middle East.

Ligue 1 club Lyon is also said to be monitoring the situation with a potential interest in bringing the French striker back to the French league. Notably, there is no reported interest from Real Madrid in re-signing Benzema.

Karim Benzema is currently training alone after being left out of the training trip to Dubai by Al-Ittihad manager Marcelo Gallardo. This development comes amid reports that Benzema has requested to leave the club due to the pressure and scrutiny he has faced since his move to the Saudi League.

Jordan Henderson is cited as another example of a player leaving the Saudi League, as he pushed for an exit from Al-Ettifaq to return to Europe with Ajax after struggling to adapt to his new surroundings. The outcome for Benzema, whether he follows a similar path back to Europe, remains uncertain.
