Al-Nassr has announced that Rudi Garcia has departed from the club. This came just a day after reports emerged of a rumored conflict with Cristiano Ronaldo
Al-Nassr issued a brief statement on Thursday to confirm that Rudi Garcia was no longer the manager of the Saudi Pro League team.
“Al-Nassr can announce that Head Coach Rudi Garcia has left the Club by mutual agreement. The board and everyone at AlNassr would like to thank Rudi and his staff for their dedicated work during the past 8 months,” it read.
Apart from the off-field issues, Garcia has not met the targets set out by Al-Nassr’s ambitious project. The team is currently in second place in the league with seven games remaining. They have lost to Al-Ittihad in their recent match.
Additionally, they were unexpectedly knocked out of the Arabian Super Cup in the semi-finals. Garcia took over as head coach of Al-Nassr last summer after Miguel Angel Russo departed.
