Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have signed Israeli goalkeeper Daniel Peretz from Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Bayern Munich confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Daniel Peretz from Maccabi Tel Aviv on a five-year deal on Friday. He will wear the No.18 shirt. According to Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich will pay an initial €5 million plus €2 million in add-ons.
After Yann Sommer departure and due to Manuel Neuer injury, Bayern was looking to sign a goalkeeper. They were linked with Kepa Arrizabalaga and Stefan Ortega, but Kepa chose to join Real Madrid and Manchester City were not ready to sell Ortega.
Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen said: “With Daniel Peretz, we’re very well equipped in our goalkeeping team in terms of prospects – both for this season and the future. Daniel is a goalkeeper with great potential. In his young years he’s already proven his ability not just at domestic level but also in international competitions.”
“Playing for Bayern is the dream of every child,” Peretz added, “As soon as I heard about Bayern’s interest, my lone wish was to transfer here. I’m eager for all that comes before me now.”
Bayern Munich will face Augsburg in the Bundesliga on Sunday.
