Brentford ready to sell Ivan Toney with ‘a very, very big price’

Brentford’s Thomas Frank admits potential ‘very substantial’ Ivan Toney sale while recognizing the club’s history of player sales.

Bees forward Toney recently signed with CAA Stellar, a prominent global agency known for assisting in transfers like Jack Grealish’s move to Manchester City and Gareth Bale’s world-record transfer to Real Madrid.

Although Toney has drawn interest from Arsenal, Manchester United, and Chelsea, Manager Frank emphasizes that if he does leave, it won’t be at a bargain price, given his contract with Brentford until 2025.

Frank said: “We have a lot of good players and I also said all the time there are maybe six clubs or less that are not selling clubs in the world, and we are a selling club for the right price. In this current market, it will be a very, very, very big price.

“I think it goes both ways. We have done a lot for him [Toney] and he has done a lot for us. I think it has been a fantastic partnership and it is still a partnership. As far as I know, he is still a Brentford player and I expect him to play for us in January.

“I believe there are a lot of things we can do here [at Brentford] and we are constantly speaking with him. The only focus I have right now is to get him back up to pace and we will take it from there.”

Ivan Toney is suspended for breaching betting rules

In May, the 27-year-old received an eight-month ban for confessing to 232 FA betting rule violations.

However, his ban was shortened due to a recognized gambling addiction. The ex-Peterborough player remains ineligible to play until January 17, 2024.

However, he maintains associations with several teams and expresses his desire to join a “major club” in order to achieve success with silverware in the future.

Even though Toney can’t participate in matches for Brentford until 2024, he can rejoin training sessions with his teammates on September 17, in accordance with the terms of his suspension.
