Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos reportedly is close to joining the Saudi club Ittihad Jeddah in the coming days.
According to Saudi publication Asharq Al-Awsat, Sergio Ramos is set to join Al-Ittihad after his transfer to Beşiktaş collapsed.
The Former Real Madrid captain left Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season after his contract expired. Ramos was in negotiations with Besiktas, but the club’s vice-president later ruled out signing Ramos because of his financial demands.
Earlier in the summer, the 37-year-old Ramos was linked with teams in Saudi Arabia, the United States, Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina. Now, reports suggest that Al-Ittihad is looking to sign a defender after Ahmed Hegazi got injured and Hassan Tambakti joined Al-Hilal.
Asharq Al-Awsat claims that Al-Ittihad has been in touch with Ramos in recent hours. They also still want to sign Mohamed Salah from Liverpool at any cost.
Ittihad has already signed Karim Benzema, Kante, Jota, and Fabinho from European clubs.
