“Very important game”, says Inter manager Inzaghi before Fiorentina clash

Inter manager Simone Inzaghi expects another difficult match against Fiorentina when they face each other at San Siro on Sunday.

Inter has won its first two matches against Monza and Cagliari. They will be without Francesco Acerbi, Stefano Sensi and Alexis Sanchez on Sunday.

“We started the season with great determination and must have the same attitude tomorrow in a very important game,” Inzaghi told Inter TV.

“Fiorentina are a very good team, they are well-organised. Over the last few years we had many games against them, all of those difficult. So the initial approach is going to be crucial.”

Florentina beat Inter with one goal at San Siro last April, but Inter won 2-1 in the Coppa Italia final.

Inzaghi says he is satisfied with their business in the summer transfer window.

“The lads have been working together on the principles of our approach and where we need to improve, but I am very satisfied so far. The new players are working well, it was a big change, losing some key players who did very well and bringing in important replacements. The more experienced ones will help the new elements settle as soon as possible.”

Inzaghi also was asked about playing with Benfica, RB Salzburg, and Real Sociedad in the Champions League group stage.

“Last season was an extremely tough group, but this year is very competitive too. We know Benfica and Salzburg, while Real Sociedad also play good football.”
