“We will be ready for Mbappe”, says Dortmund keeper Gregor Kobel

Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel has warned his teammates about facing Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe.

Borussia Dortmund will begin their Champions League campaign on Tuesday as they face Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes.

Dortmund has eight points after four matches in the Bundesliga, while PSG only has eight points after five matches. Luis Enrique’s side suffered a 3-2 defeat against Nice last Friday.

Ahead of Tuesday’s match, Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel said they are ready to face Mbappe and his teammates.

“Paris will take their chances better than Freiburg. But we will be ready. We’ll have to work hard. It’s going to be a 90-minute job,” Kobel said at Monday’s pre-match press conference.

“They have tremendous quality up front. Mbappe has brutal pace and is a good finisher. For me, it’s important to get into a good position and react to the ball,” said the BVB goalkeeper.

The 25-year-old Kobel joined Dortmund from Stuttgart in 2021 and has made 76 appearances for them.

In the other match in Group F, AC Milan will host Newcastle United at San Siro.
