Guardiola provides Haaland update after Manchester City striker subbed at half-time

Manchester City star Erling Haaland was substituted at half-time against Bournemouth after picking up an ankle injury.

Manchester City secured a thumping 6-1 win against Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday.

However, one concerning news for Guardiola’s side was when Erling Haaland limped off the pitch at half-time. The striker was substituted after an ankle injury.

After the match, Guardiola provided an update on Haaland’s injury situation.

“Twist in the ankle, we didn’t want to take risks with him he didn’t feel comfortable,” he said. “He’ll be back maybe Tuesday but maybe next Sunday.”

Man City managed to trash Bournemouth thanks to dazzling Jeremy Doku who provided four assists and scored a goal. The 21-year-old Belgian became the youngest player in Premier League history who has been involved in five goals in a single game. Doku also became the youngest player to assist four goals in a Premier League match.

Manchester City will face Young Boys in the Champions League midweek and then travel to London for a clash with Chelsea next Sunday.

Guardiola’s team moved to the top of the table after thrashing Bournemouth, before Tottenham’s match with Chelsea on Monday.
