Liverpool target Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz as Mohamed Salah replacement

Liverpool reportedly is considering signing Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz if Mohamed Salah leaves the club.

According to The Daily Star, Liverpool have joined the race to sign Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz. Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and Chelsea are the other teams who are targeting the 20-year-old attacking midfielder.

This report claims that Jurgen Klopp is a big admirer of Wirtz and considers him an ideal replacement for Mohamed Salah.

Wirtz has a long-term contract at Bayer Leverkusen which does not run out until 2027. Leverkusen is likely to demand around €100m to sell Wirtz.

Wirtz who made his debut at age 17, has scored five goals in all competitions for Leverkusen this season. Xabi Alonso’s side is at the top of the Bundesliga after ten matches.
