Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis claims Victor Osimhen is on the verge of signing a new deal with the Italian club.
Victor Osimhen played a key role in Napoli winning the Serie A title last season. The Nigerian striker also has scored six goals in nine Serie A matches this season.
Osimhen, who has been linked with Premier League clubs Chelsea and Manchester United, has less than two years left on his current contract. Osimhen’s relationship with Napoli became frosty after the club uploaded a video to their TikTok page that mocked him.
At the ‘Campania Felix’ award show via Calciomercato.com, De Laurentiis suggested that Osimhen will extend his contract with Napoli soon.
He said: “For Osimhen we are at the signing stage which had been pending since the summer.”
Napoli president De Laurentiis also was asked about Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s future.
“What does he have to do with it, he still has four years left… You always cry over a dead person who isn’t there.”
Osimhen missed the Champions League match against Real Madrid. However, he is expected to be fit for the match against league leaders Inter on Sunday.
