Marcos Alonso already has a plan in place to leave Barcelona

Marcos Alonso is prepared to leave Barcelona but intends to stay until the end of his contract next summer despite interest from Saudi Arabian clubs.

Alonso, who has featured in only seven games for Barcelona in various competitions this season, may consider leaving the club in the future. Still, he wants to stay until the end of his contract next summer.

Despite receiving offers from multiple Saudi Pro League clubs and initial expectations of a potential departure in the January transfer window, Alonso has expressed his commitment to remain until the conclusion of his existing contract.

Alonso’s contract includes a provision that enables Barcelona to prolong his tenure for an additional year if he participates in at least half of the team’s matches this season. However, with only 299 minutes of playing time thus far, it seems improbable that the former Chelsea player will be a regular feature in Xavi’s lineup for the remainder of the season.

During the summer, there were speculations linking the 32-year-old with a move to Manchester United, but the club ultimately opted to bring in Sergio Reguilon on loan. Nevertheless, there is a possibility that Manchester United may revive their interest in Alonso in the upcoming January transfer window, especially as Erik ten Hag is seeking to reinforce his defensive options.
