Serhou Guirassy turns down Stuttgart’s offer giving Manchester United a boost

Serhou Guirassy has turned down an offer to extend his contract with Stuttgart, with clubs like Manchester United and Newcastle reportedly considering moves for the 27-year-old striker.

According to Christian Falk, the Bundesliga side offered Guirassy a new deal and sought to buy out his release clause, which is set at €17.5 million (£15m), to avoid losing him for a lower fee. However, the forward has rejected the proposed contract extension.

Serhou Guirassy’s performances in the German Bundesliga have garnered interest from several top teams, and according to Christian Falk, he is prepared to take the next step in his career. Manchester United, Newcastle, Borussia Dortmund, and AC Milan are among the teams reportedly interested in the Guinea international. There are reports that Manchester United is considering making a bid for him during the January transfer window.

Serhou Guirassy has been in outstanding form for Stuttgart since joining from Rennes in the summer. His goal-scoring exploits have been remarkable, with an impressive 16 goals in just 12 games in the Bundesliga. This goal tally places him just two goals behind Harry Kane in the league’s scoring charts.

Serhou Guirassy is expected to remain with Stuttgart for the remainder of 2023. However, he has the option to leave in January if any of the interested clubs meet his release clause. Alternatively, the attacker may choose to complete the current season with Stuttgart in the Bundesliga.
