Real Madrid to give injury-plagued Arda Guler time to raise fitness levels before club debut

Real Madrid has decided to keep Arda Guler out of consideration for selection until 2024 to provide him with ample time to enhance his fitness at the club’s training facility.

Despite his transfer from Fenerbahce in the summer, the 18-year-old has not played any minutes for Los Blancos. He was on the bench as an unused substitute in early November against Braga and Rayo Vallecano. However, his season has been marred by knee and muscle injuries.

Currently training individually at Madrid’s Valdebebas training center, Guler will continue his recovery with precautionary measures, and the club plans to hold him out of senior matches until the beginning of the new year. While Guler is eager to return to action, Madrid’s medical and technical staff are prioritizing a careful and gradual recovery process.

Real Madrid tentatively views their Copa del Rey match against Arandina on January 6 as a potential return date for Arda Guler. The club is also optimistic about having Guler available for the Supercopa de Espana semi-finals against Atletico in Saudi Arabia on January 10.

Vinicius Junior is another player Madrid intends to keep out of action until 2024 as he recovers from a thigh issue. There is currently no specified return date for Eduardo Camavinga, who is dealing with a knee ligament injury.

Carlo Ancelotti has faced several injury challenges throughout the season, but despite this, Real Madrid secured qualification to the last 16 of the Champions League by winning all six of their group stage matches.
