PSG beat Liverpool to signing of Lucas Beraldo from Sao Paulo

Paris Saint-Germain has beaten Liverpool in the race to sign Sao Paulo defender Lucas Beraldo in the January transfer window.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Paris Saint-Germain has reached an agreement with Sao Paulo to sign defender Lucas Beraldo for £17 million in January. ESPN also has confirmed this news, and it is expected that he will take part in PSG medical in the next few days.

Beraldo had also been linked with a move to Liverpool as the English club was monitoring his development for several months. Bayern Munich, Wolves, and Zenit were also interested in Beraldo. However, PSG managed to beat Klopp’s side and other teams in the race to sign the Brazilian defender.

The 20-year-old Beraldo joined Sao Paulo in 2020 and made his first team debut in the 2022 Copa Sudamericana.

PSG brought Randal Kolo Muani, Bradley Barcola, Ousmane Dembélé, Goncalo Ramos, and Lucas Hernández last summer. Luis Enrique’s side is at the top of the Ligue 1 table and will face Real Sociedad in the Champions League round of 16.
