Tottenham’s Sergio Reguilon has Manchester United loan cut short

Manchester United has decided to terminate Sergio Reguilon loan contract and the Spanish defender will return to Tottenham.

Sergio Reguilon will return to Tottenham after Manchester United exercised a break clause in his loan deal on Tuesday.

Reguilon joined Man United on loan from Tottenham in the summer, after Luke Shaw suffered a serious injury. The 27-year-old Spanish defender played in 12 matches for United.

Reguilon could join another club on loan because he has only played for United so far this season. Reguilon joined Tottenham Hotspur on a five-year deal in 2020. However, he failed to established himself at the English club and only has played in 67 matches.

Tottenham reportedly is close to sign Genoa centre-back Radu Dragusin in the January transfer window. The London club also is ready to sell Eric Dier in January, before his contract expires in the summer.

Tottenham confirmed on Tuesday that Midfielder Pape Sarr has signed a new six-and-a-half-year contract.
