Barcelona confirmed that Vitor Roque has been registered with La Liga, ahead of Friday’s match against Las Palmas.
Barcelona managed to sign Vitor Roque from Brazilian side Athletico Paranaense for 40million euro last summer. The 18-year-old Brazilian has a buy-out clause of 500million euros in his long-term contract.
Both clubs agreed that Roque stays at Athletico Paranaense until the end of the year and then joins Xavi’s squad. Barcelona confirmed on Wednesday that they have managed to successfully registered Roque with La Liga, and he is available for the match against Las Palmas.
Roque scored 28 goals in 81 matches for Athletico Paranaense, but Xavi insisted on Wednesday that they will be patient with the Brazilian teenager.
Xavi’s side is in fourth place in the table after 18 matches in La Liga, ten points behind leaders Real Madrid who defeated Mallorca on Wednesday.
