Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe says he has not made up his mind about his future amid Real Madrid links.
The French World Cup winner will be a free agent in six months as his contract at PSG expires this summer. The 25-year-old Mbappe was close to joining Real Madrid in the summer of 2022 before announcing a U-turn and staying in Paris.
Reports in Spain suggest that Real Madrid has set a deadline of January 15 for Mbappe to decide his future. The Spanish club is ready to abandon its move for Mbappe if he refuses to accept their offer until mid-January.
“First of all, I’m very, very, very motivated for this year. It’s very important,” Mbappe told reporters on Wednesday.
“As I said, we’ve got titles to go after and we’ve already won one, so that’s already done. After that, no, I haven’t made up my mind yet.
“But in any case, with the agreement I made with the chairman (Nasser Al-Khelaifi) this summer, it doesn’t matter what I decide.
“We managed to protect all parties and preserve the club’s serenity for the challenges ahead, which remains the most important thing. So we’ll say it’s secondary.”
Mbappe who joined PSG from Monaco in 2017, is the club’s all-time top scorer and has won five Ligue 1 titles.
