Bayern Munich aim to beat Tottenham to Genoa defender Radu Dragusin

Bayern Munich reportedly has entered the race to sign Genoa defender Radu Dragusin after Tottenham reached an agreement with the Serie A side.

Tottenham reached an agreement with Genoa on a deal worth £25.9m, including £5.6m (€6m) in add-ons to sign Radu Dragusin. Spurs defender Djed Spence also was set to join Genoa on a loan deal as part of the agreement.

However, Sky in Italy and Fabrizio Romano are reporting that Bayern Munich is trying to hijack Tottenham’s move for Genoa defender. Bayern reportedly has made a £26.7m offer for Radu Dragusin, and he must now decide which club to join.

Dragusin reportedly favours a move to the Premier League over Genoa’s Serie A rivals Napoli, who made a player-plus-cash offer at the end of last week, but is thought to be open to joining either Bayern or Spurs this month.

The 21-year-old centre-back started his senior career with the reserves of Juventus in 2020. After making only one appearance for Juventus, Dragusin joined Genoa on loan in 2022. The Italian club made his transfer permanent in January 2023.

Bayern Munich also has been linked with Tottenham defender Eric Dier who will be a free agent in the summer.

Spurs confirmed the loan signing of former Chelsea striker Timo Werner from RB Leipzig on Tuesday.
