Barcelona 1-0 Las Palmas: Raphinha header gives Blaugrana narrow win

Barcelona continued its good form with a 1-0 win over 10-man Las Palmas in La Liga on Saturday.

Barcelona earned a 1-0 home win over Las Palmas in La Liga at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys thanks to a second-half goal by Raphinha. Xavi’s side now is unbeaten in its last 11 matches in all competitions.

Barcelona now has 67 points after 30 games, five points behind Real Madrid. They are also five points above third-placed Girona, but both have a game in hand.

Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha both scored for Barcelona in the first 20 minutes, but they were ruled out for offside. Las Palmas went down to 10 men in the 24th minute when goalkeeper Alvaro Valles was sent off for a rash challenge on Raphinha outside his box.

The home side took the lead in the 59th minute when Raphinha headed a cross by substitute Joao Felix into the top corner. Felix could provide another assist with a cross, but Las Palmas’ keeper denied Ferran Torres.

Real Madrid hosts Athletic Club and Girona play with Real Betis on Sunday.
