Hasan Salihamidzic has stated that he plans to have a conversation with Benjamin Pavard about the prospect of extending his contract.
Bayern Munich’s sports board member Hasan Salihamidzic has confirmed that the club is interested in discussing a contract extension with Benjamin Pavard that goes beyond his current contract, which runs until 2024.
“We will talk and see how he feels. I have nothing against it. I’m happy that he’s with us,” Salihamidzic told Abendzeitung.
“Benji is playing a very good second half of the season. He’s showing confidence and is doing a very good job overall,” the Bayern boss added.
Sky Germany has reported that the financial aspect will play a crucial role in whether both parties agree on a new contract. Bayern Munich does not want to extend Pavard’s contract without considering the cost.
The Frenchman arrived at the club in 2019 and has since won every club trophy there is in European football with Die Rotten.
The defender has been a subject of interest from other major European clubs such as Barcelona and Manchester United.
