David Raya has one more year left on his four-year contract with Brentford, which has Bayern Munich interested to sign the Spanish Raya
Bayern Munich is currently searching for a replacement for Yann Sommer, who is in discussions with Inter Milan regarding a move to the San Siro.
Bayern Munich has initiated discussions with Brentford to secure a deal for goalkeeper David Raya. However, they have not yet met the English club’s expectations for the transfer. Brentford values the Spain international at £40m.
With one year remaining on his contract with Brentford, Raya expressed his readiness to take the next step in his career this summer.
Nevertheless, even after signing goalkeeper Mark Flekken to compete with Thomas Strakosha, Brentford is willing to retain three top goalkeepers if their valuation is not satisfied.
Tottenham and Manchester United had expressed interest in Raya during the summer, but they later signed Guglielmo Vicario and Andre Onana respectively, filling their goalkeeper positions.
With these signings in place, Bayern saw an opportunity to approach Raya as they seek a replacement for Yann Sommer, who is in negotiations for a move to Inter Milan.
While Raya joined Brentford’s squad for the Premier League Summer Series in the USA, Thomas Frank, the manager, has preferred to use Flekken in the games against Fulham and Brighton.
