Despite being linked with big Premier League clubs like Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester City, Josko Gvardiol is in no hurry to make a decision about a potential transfer
Gvardiol is focused on playing for RB Leipzig and is not in a hurry to make a big transfer decision. He is enjoying his time with the club and is currently helping them in their pursuit of the German Cup title this season.
Gvardiol is focused on the season at hand
Additionally, there is also the opportunity for Leipzig to beat Premier League champions Manchester City in the last-16 of the Champions League. Therefore, Gvardiol has stated that he will not make any decisions about his future until the summer.
Gvardiol has told UEFA’s official website: “Ambitions? Well, I don’t really know. I’m here right now and we have a lot of work to do; there’s the Bundesliga and we’re also playing in the Champions League and competing in the [German Cup]. So, it’s important for me to be as successful as possible this season, and then when the season is over, I can think about what and how to proceed.”
RB Leipzig have secured Gvardiol’s services until 2027, which means that they are not compelled to sell him and have emphasized that they have no intention of entertaining offers for the highly valued player.
Gvardiol’s impressive performances have also caught the attention of Real Madrid, who are reportedly interested in signing the 21-year-old.
The young defender is considered to be one of the most promising center-backs in the world, with his stock rising after helping Croatia reach the semi-finals and secure a third-place finish at the 2022 World Cup.
