In January, RB Leipzig boss Rouven Schröder has not ruled out the possibility of Timo Werner departing the club.
This season, Timo Werner has fallen down the pecking order at RB Leipzig, with only four starts in all competitions for Die Roten Bullen.
Speculation about the 27-year-old potentially leaving the club has arisen due to his diminished role, and RB Leipzig’s sporting director, Rouven Schröder, is not ruling anything out.
Timo Werner may leave Leipzig in january
When asked about the possibility of a January move for Werner, Schröder told Bild: “I wouldn’t say that right now.
“We are looking at the squad as usual and there will certainly be players who say they have something else in mind. We will face that,” he added.
“There is a performance principle to some extent. And if others are ahead at the moment, then Timo is also someone who faces the whole thing and accepts it,” the Leipzig boss also told the German tabloid.
Schröder conceded that Werner has been experiencing a challenging period “for some time.”
“Nevertheless, we support him. Timo will overcome this,” he insisted.
