Tottenham’s chances of appointing Julian Nagelsmann as their new manager have been dashed as he wants to take time before deciding on his next move
Julian Nagelsmann was linked with the vacant Tottenham job after Antonio Conte left the club on Sunday.
However, it has been reported that Nagelsmann wants to wait before making a decision on his next move, dashing Tottenham’s hopes of landing the young German coach.
Nagelsmann was let go by Bayern Munich on Friday, despite the team’s success in reaching the Champions League quarter-finals and sitting second in the league, with former PSG and Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel immediately taking his place.
Tottenham left without any feasible options
According to the Evening Standard, Tottenham’s search for a new manager has encountered an obstacle.
However, Julian Nagelsmann reportedly wants more time to consider his options, which could hinder Tottenham’s plans to hire him.
While Chelsea are monitoring Nagelsmann’s situation, Real Madrid and PSG appear to be more suitable destinations for the German.
Carlo Ancelotti has been linked with the Brazil national team, and if he leaves Real Madrid at the end of the season, Nagelsmann could be his replacement.
Similarly, Christophe Galtier’s future at PSG is uncertain after their early Champions League exit, and this potential vacancy may also be attractive to Nagelsmann.
These options may be more appealing to Nagelsmann than the Tottenham job, leaving Spurs and Levy without a clear managerial candidate.
