Several top European clubs are reportedly interested in signing Daichi Kamada, who will become a free agent at the end of the current season
Eintracht Frankfurt has announced that attacking midfielder Daichi Kamada will be leaving the club as a free agent when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Kamada, who joined Eintracht Frankfurt from Belgian club Sint-Truiden four years ago, has scored 37 goals and made 31 assists in 170 appearances for the club.
Daichi Kamada, who plays as an attacking midfielder for Eintracht Frankfurt, was a member of the squad that won the Europa League last season.
His impressive performances have led to interest from several top European clubs, including Barcelona, Manchester United, and Chelsea.
Frankfurt confirms Kamada’s free departure
Daichi Kamada has opted not to extend his contract with the club, which expires at the end of the current season.
This means that the 26-year-old Japan international will be available for free in the transfer market.
The Bundesliga club confirmed on Wednesday: “Eintracht Frankfurt and Daichi Kamada are going their separate ways after the 2022-23 season.”
The club’s sporting director, Markus Krosche, said: “Daichi Kamada has developed into a very good Bundesliga player at Eintracht Frankfurt in recent years and has played his part in the sporting development of the club, with the highlight of the Europa League victory last year.
“We would have liked to see Daichi at Eintracht in the future, but the player’s interests did not go hand in hand. But, we thank him for his commitment to Eintracht and wish him all the best for the future.”
