Terzic laments ‘brutally disappointing’ Dortmund draw

Edin Terzic was fuming over Borussia Dortmund’s 3-3 draw with Stuttgart, especially the late goal they conceded

Borussia Dortmund’s coach Edin Terzic expressed his disappointment with the team’s 3-3 draw against Stuttgart, as it prevented them from catching up with Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga table.

Borussia Dortmund appeared to be on track to level with Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga table with Gio Reyna’s goal in the injury time of the second half at Mercedes-Benz Arena.

However, their hopes were crushed by a 97th-minute equalizer from Silas Katompa Mvumpa, resulting in them losing two crucial points in the title race against their 10-men hosts.

Terzic doesn’t hold back his criticism of his players

This is the latest disappointment in a season full of ups and downs for Dortmund, and Terzic did not hesitate to give a harsh criticism of their performance after the match.

“We missed a huge chance as a team,” he told Sky Sport Germany. “That is brutally disappointing.

“It is hard for me to find the words [to explain] why it happened.

“We thought that with the loss at home to Werder Bremen. we had already experienced the worst part of the season.

“But this tops it again. We were lucky in the early stages. If we are honest. We almost conceded four goals against a team that was outnumbered.” Terzic concluded.

Stuttgart played with 10 men for most of the game after defender Konstantinos Mavropanos’ sending-off.

Dortmund failed to take advantage of Bayern’s draw against Hoffenheim at home. This means they are now two points behind in the race for the Bundesliga title, with six matches remaining.

Terzic’s men next host Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.
