Ancelotti: Valencia fans called Vinicius monkey

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti criticized Valencia fans for racially abusing Vinicius Junior, with the Italian claiming that Valencia fans called the Brazilian monkey.

During the match at Estadio Mestalla, the Brazilian international found himself in the midst of a controversial end as he received a red card in added time, contributing to Los Blancos’ 1-0 La Liga defeat against the struggling hosts.

Vinicius, who has previously reported instances of racial abuse to match referees and La Liga, expressed his frustration at the lack of action taken against the offenders.

Video footage from the game shows Vinicius confronting Valencia fans. Relaying the message to the match referee, Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea. However, despite the substantial evidence supporting his claims, little action was taken, and Vinicius was sent off.

During his post-match press conference, Ancelotti was asked about the situation, and the experienced Italian manager left no room for doubt, stating that it was the most severe case of racist abuse he has witnessed in a football match.

“We make complaints and what happens? Nothing at all”, as per reports from Marca.

“The only solution is to stop the game. But This can’t go on. He’s the player who receives the most fouls and the one receiving the most insults.

“Before and during the red card incident, the whole stadium yelled at him ‘monkey, monkey, monkey’.

“I’m very sad. I have never seen anything like this.”
