Former Real Madrid goalkeeper Santi Canizares’ son has signed a long-term contract with Los Blancos
Lucas Canizares, who has been a regular on Real Madrid’s bench this season, has signed a new contract at Real Madrid.

Lucas is the son of the former Real Madrid great Santi Canizares. His father, Santi, also came through the Real Madrid academy and would later win La Liga twice with Los Blancos and the Champions League once. he would later join Valencia, where he won the league in 2004. Santi Canizares represented Spain 46 times.
The 20-year-old Lucas Canizares has been named as part of Real Madrid’s squad 10 times this season and was part of their setup in the Club World Cup as well. He is behind Thibaut Courtois and Andriy Lunin in the pecking order.
Canizares was reportedly seeking first team football in January and was trying to leave Real Madrid. However, the youngster has now confirmed on Instagram that he will be staying at Real Madrid.
