Barcelona 2-2 Granada: Blaugrana make yet another comeback

Barcelona made an impressive comeback from a two-goal deficit to secure a point against a determined Granada on Sunday evening.

Barcelona found themselves down 2-0 in the match as Bryan Zaragoza scored a brilliant brace within the opening 30 minutes. However, they managed to pull one back just before halftime when Lamine Yamal, becoming the youngest goalscorer in La Liga history, capitalized on a rebound.

In the second half, Barcelona dominated as expected, and they eventually leveled the score with a goal from substitute Sergi Roberto in the 85th minute.

This draw now sees Barcelona trailing table-toppers Real Madrid by three points as they head into the international break.

Remarkably, Granada took the lead within the first 20 seconds of the game. Bryan Zaragoza seized an opportunity, receiving a through ball from Lucas Boyes on the right side of the penalty area and driving a low shot into the far corner of the net.

Barcelona, as anticipated, launched a determined offensive thereafter. Gavi forced Andre Ferreira into a smart save with a shot from the edge of the box, and Joao Felix headed over the crossbar from a corner kick.

However, as Barcelona pushed forward in search of an equalizer, they left more gaps in the defensive third. Granada capitalized on this in the 28th minute to make it 2-0, with Zaragoza once again finding the net. He burst behind the Barca defense, dribbled past Jules Kounde, and calmly fired into the top corner with the outside of his right foot.

Barcelona vs Granada: Lamine Yamal breaks La Liga goalscoring record

In added time, at the end of the first half, Barcelona managed to reduce the deficit through young talent Lamine Yamal. After Joao Felix carved his way through a crowd of Granada players in the box, his shot on goal was parried by Ferreira into the path of Yamal, who tapped it into an empty net.

Barcelona pushed forward with determination at the start of the second half and were almost denied by Ferreira in the 68th minute. However, his shot was straight at Ferreira, who managed to prevent the ball from crossing the line with his midsection.

Torres turned provider for Araujo shortly after, playing the ball to the defender on the edge of the penalty area. Araujo’s powerful shot, unfortunately for Barca, missed just wide of the right post.

After continued pressure for 40 minutes, Barcelona finally found the equalizer in the 85th minute. Substitute Sergi Roberto, unmarked in the box, flicked home a low cross from Alejandro Balde on the left flank.

Almost immediately after the restart, Granada came within a hair’s breadth of regaining their lead. Zaragoza again caused problems for the Barca defense with his powerful run down the right-hand side, but his shot hit the post.

In the 92nd minute, Barcelona believed they had completed the comeback with a goal from Joao Felix. The loanee sprinted behind the Granada backline to head a stunning cross from Joao Cancelo into the net. However, the goal was disallowed after a VAR review because Ferran Torres was offside in the buildup.
